Who's Your Grandpa?

The 'Confessional Rev', whose blog I follow, is a young guy, but in his most recent post, he tells a story of being mistaken for someone's grandpa.

Earlier today I read about the '25 Hottest Hunks' and was extremely surprised at how many of them are rather mature in appearance...graying at the temples and in their goatees etc. Apparently, it's the 'in' look....and I for one am thrilled, considering MY advanced years...And, I was mistakenly identified as the 'mother' of my 6 mo. old baby brother when I was 10!

As I commented to 'Confessional Rev', 'It's not the years, it's the mileage'

As the wife of Confessional Rev, let me say, uh-oh, I"m in trouble if it is indeed true that it's not the years its the mileage that counts. Has my husband had a rough life that I don't know about???'-) He's no spring chicken anymore but he doesn't EVEN look like he's seen enough life to be called a grandpa!! I mean, since we are the same age, if I had gone on the visit, would this lady have called me "Grandma"? I DON"T THINK SO!!! I'm still a sort of blushing bride......;-)))

Kevin said this older lady might have had some aging issues, since she asked Teresa 3 times how many kids she had and then asked her 4 times some other question.

I'm gonna be laughing over this one for a good long time. I can get a lot of mileage out of it, like no one else can.

In the context of the quote, Indiana Jones IS referring to 'wear and tear' that has reduced his otherwise-young body to such deterioration. However, movie buff that you are, you will remember it was the love of a good woman that quickly revived him :-D

Zep(grand)dad and I were discussing that in this day and age when babies are having babies, it's not that unusual for a 35 y.o. to be a grandparent...

Don't worry, you guys will be 'forever young'!
